Meet Dr. Winfrey

Dr. Chris Winfrey practices neuropsychiatry in private practice at New Image Wellness, in Marlton, NJ. His practice is a blend of orthomolecular psychiatry, functional medicine, and psychoanalytic therapy. He uses this combination of medicine towards conditions such as Traumatic Brain Injuries, Cognitive Impairment, PANDAS, Mold Toxicity induced Encephalitis, refractory depression, complex PTSD and other conditions to rehabilitate the brain and thus restore mental functioning. Dr. Winfrey has additional interest and training in racial and cultural psychiatry and has spoken and presented on these topics in various settings. Lastly, Dr. Winfrey has interest in Theology and Faith and has worked on bridging the gap with Faith Traditions and the Psychiatric communities at both APA international meetings and in Faith Domains. Dr. Winfrey is currently working on and formulating an understanding of psychosomatic and somatopsychic thoughts, schemas, and psychic conflicts from microbial and toxic influence in neuropsychiatric conditions.

Education and Training

  1. Dr. Chris Winfrey practices neuropsychiatry in private practice at New Image Wellness, in Marlton, NJ. His practice is a blend of orthomolecular psychiatry, functional medicine, and psychoanalytic therapy. 
  2. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. During his residency, he held significant positions: Associate Chief Resident of Education and Patient Safety Committee in which he was responsible for developing curriculum and teaching residents and medical students. 
  3. He is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist, ABPN-2016 
  4. He completed his psychiatric Residency at University of Texas at Southwestern and Cooper University Hospital in 2016. 
  5. He completed a psychodynamic psychotherapy fellowship at Philadelphia Center of Psychoanalysis in 2014-2016. 
  6. He is an advance psychoanalytic candidate at Philadelphia Center of Psychoanalysis 2016-Current 
  7. He has additional training in functional medicine and integrative medicine at the Institute for Functional Medicine. 
  8. He has additional training in environmental medicine from National Association of Environmental Medicine and International Society for Environmentally Acquired Illnesses (ISEAI). 
  9. He has additional training in Autoimmune and infectious Encephalitis/PANDAS from the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society. 
  10. He earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in 2011.
  11. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) in 2006
